How To Do Foal Games

Foal games take place when the horse is ages 8 months though 1 year and 4 months. They can be very challenging if you don't have a schedule. In this blog, I will walk you through the steps of the foal games (includes pictures!) and also provide you with a schedule so you can do it on your own if you would like that better. (Foal Games Schedule Credit to Dr.Zig on Howrse)

This foal has 0 skills, and is 6 months old.
Step 1: So first of all. Your mare foals, or you buy a new foal from the sales. From here, take care of your foal up until 6 months of age.

This foal is a foundation foal. That means that she has a Genetic Potential (GP) of 350.00. She starts out with 0 skills and she is 6 months old. Perfect for your first time trying the foal games. I recommend doing your first set of foal games with a foal with 0 skills, because by the end the foal should have at least 60 skill points.  This way, you can see if you might have messed up somewhere, if the foal doesn't have 60 skill points by the time it is 1 year 6 months old.

Step 2: When the foal is 6 months old, you board the foal in a equestrian center. I recommend getting a 3*** box, but a 1* or 2** box is just fine. Once you have boarded your foal, take care of him/her and put the foal to bed. Make sure the foal has as close to 100% morale as possible. You can either age your foal, or just wait a day.

This is what your foals skills and History should look like after you put him to bed.
Step 3: Now your foal should be 8 months old. Time to start the foal games. First, you groom your foal. Next, you click the play icon and select 30 minutes. Then you feed your foal. Whatever the amount it says the foal needs to be fed, plus 3. Be sure to do this as it gives your foal another little boost of energy. You then put your foal in it's box for 2 hours. Click the little play icon again, but this time select 8 hours. Stroke your foal. Give your foal a carrot. And then Water your foal. Be sure to put your foal in bed! If you don't, the foal will wake up with less morale and that could make your schedule a bit off the next day. Your foal should have 10.20 skills. Either age, or take care of your foal the next day.

This foal is done with it's 10 month Foal Games.
Step 4: Now your foal is 10 months old! First you need to groom your foal. Then click on the play icon and select 30 minutes. Feed your foal (don't forget to add an extra 3!). Put your foal into its box for 2 hours again. They play for 8 hours and 30 minutes. Stroke, give it a carrot and drink, then put your foal to bed. Now your foal should have 21.00 skills. Now either age, or come back and finish the next day.

Step 5: Your foal is now 1 year old! Groom your foal. Play for 30 minutes. Feed (+3!!!) your foal, then put your foal in the box for 2 hours. Play with your foal for 9 hours and 30 minutes. Stroke, Carrot, Drink. Then put your foal to bed! Your foal should now have 33 skills. Now either age, or take care of your foal the next day.

Step 6: Your foal should now be 1 year and 2 months old. This one is a bit trickier. Groom, then play with your foal for 30 minutes. Feed (+3!). Play with your foal for another 30 minutes. Put your foal in the box for 1 hour, then Play for 10 hours. Stroke your foal, Give him a carrot and drink, then put your foal to bed. Your foal should now have 46.20 skills. Now either age your foal, or do the rest tomorrow or the next day.

Step 7: This is the last round of foal games. Your foal should now be 1 year and 4 months old. Groom your foal, play for 30 minutes, and feed (don't forget the extra 3). Play with your foal for another 30 minutes, an put him in the box for 1 hour. Play for 10 hours, then another 30 minutes. Stroke your foal and put him to bed. Do not give him a drink or carrot. All of the horses on Howrse need to be put to bed by 22:00, or they will wake up with less morale and energy.

You are now done with the foal games! Your foal should now have 60 skills. Now you can age your foal one more time. He will not be a foal any more. Your horse will now have the adult coat.
